Handcarved monoxylous mask of the Baule Community of Cote d'Ivoire. 100% handcrafted, a traditional mask of the Baule ethnic group that resisted the invasion of French colonials longer than any other West African people. The mask with twin seated figures on headgear represents a powerful positive spiritual presence in its environment and was a significant mask during the fabled Goli festival. The solid attractive mask is carved out of Marina, known for durability and excellent wood grain and finish.
